About
Hi, my name is Geoff Green and this site - Profitable Investing - is designed to help you do just that - invest profitably in the U.S. Stock market.
If you’ve had some bad luck with your investments I can help you change that fairly quickly.
As you can probably tell, I have some fairly strong opinions about how to trade stocks. The good thing is that my views work. Just check the last few years results here: Historical Stock Market Returns.
If you are interested in obtaining returns far above what most people consider the “average” just stick around. Enter your contact information and I’ll update you immediately when you need to take action.
I’ll even tell you the stocks I’m watching for potential buy or sell - heck, I’ll show you without subscribing - just check the right side of this page for my watch-list.
Can you achieve the same results? Maybe - you’ll have to subscribe to find out.
I’ve been an active investor and trader for the last 20 years. I used to subscribe to paper copies of stock charts that were delivered to my home a week after the market closed - A WEEK! Just thinking about the time delay gives me the chills.
Nowadays anyone with an Internet connection can get charts in real-time, as they are happening, complete with any kind of indicator you want. This doesn’t even mention the ease of doing fundamental analysis.
But here is the bottom line - I’m a market timer and I’m looking to be in stocks or call options when the momentum to move up is high, and I’m going to sell short or buy put options when the momentum is down. My average time to stay in one position is about 10 days - yup that’s right - 10 days.
Sometimes I’ll make 20%, 30% or more on a position and then I’m gone. Sometimes I’ll break even. Sometimes I’ll lose 5%, rarely more. Overall I have demonstrated that I can beat a buy and hold strategy consistently with very nice returns.
If you want I’ll teach you how to do that, are you interested?
Good, sign up and I’ll keep you updated!
For those that want more details, here are the cornerstones to my strategy.
I Time the Market- I’ve been told time and time again by financial planners, stock brokers and friends that timing the market isn’t possible. I believe these are well-meaning people who tell me this because either 1) it would screw up their business model to tell their clients otherwise and/or 2) they don’t know how to do it. I don’t try to buy at the extreme bottom and sell at the top, all I want is the high-momentum part in the middle of those extremes. Look at my returns and you’ll see it’s easy to do.
I Buy Stocks Close to or Hitting New Highs - I had a stockbroker from a big company once advise me to buy a stock because it was a “bargain price”. What a bunch of hogwash, the only reason is was a bargain was because it was priced lower than before - guess what - that means it’s in a downtrend and likely to go lower. And it certainly did. In an uptrend I buy quality stocks going up, near or at a new high. In a downtrend I sell crappy stocks going down, near or at a new low.
I Never Buy and Hold - Buy and hold can be great if you 1) have nerves of steel (but never if you own a garbage stock - think Enron here) or 2) you don’t know how to time the market or 3) you don’t want to be an active trader. If you belong in those categories that’s ok with me. Personally I just can’t stand to hold a stock that was up 20 or 30% or more and watch it fall back to my purchase price - or lower. Not me, when it tops out I’m taking my money off the table thank you. Prices come in waves, if the same stock has another run I might jump back in if it’s doing better than my current holdings.
That’s it, you now know my secrets. Of course the details and the implementation is a little more involved - that’s why I put this site together.
If you want to chat or discuss a specific stock just contact me here: Contact Form
If you don’t want to subscribe right now just come back and visit often - especially if you want your investing results to improve significantly.
Thanks,
Geoff
